Good Afternoon, let’s talk photos!
Here we are mid-summer, and all of our sunset sessions are booked. What about sunrise? It is cooler, no one is out on the beach, and you get the same great light as the sunset. It is just too stinking early! That is what most families say.
I have a solution. How about late afternoon photos!
We can get good afternoon photos if you are willing to get a little sweaty in the summer. It is brighter and hotter but makes a great photo for those willing to risk it. On a cloudy day, the images are just as soft as sunset or sunrise photos, so no worries. On sunny days we can be creative with shade and get the bright and colorful look of these examples.
How about that for some fun family photos!
This family came to the beach to celebrate one of their own coming home from China. The purpose of their vacation was to spend time together and document the time with family photos. They decided to book photos in the late afternoon so they could keep their dinner reservations. The evening went perfectly!
The mood is quite different from sunset photos.
At the end of the day, the light softens giving a pastel look to our photos. It is almost like a watercolor look. Some families prefer the bright and colorful look of afternoon photos. I think it suits this crew perfectly! When I saw them walk up in matching tye-dye dresses and Hawaiian shirts, I realized they had made the right choice. They are a bright and colorful family that needs the same in their photos!
