There is something extra special about Family Beach Photos in Fort Morgan, Alabama, when we get to photograph the same family year after year. We already know there will be smiles, laughter, and a little bit of silliness. Even better, we get to watch their family traditions grow right along with the kids.

This year, Fort Morgan, a suburb of Gulf Shores, gave us an absolutely beautiful evening. The skies were exceptionally blue. In fact, they almost looked as though they had been planned to match the family’s wardrobe. Their shades of blue looked perfect against the sand, water, and bright coastal sky. Sometimes everything simply comes together.

Of course, we always capture the classic family portraits. However, some of our favorite photographs happen when everyone relaxes and has a little fun.

Several years ago, this family accidentally started a tradition. During their first session, we ended the evening with a sword fight. Naturally, it was too much fun to do only once. Therefore, when they returned the following year, the sword fight had to happen again.

Then, year two brought another addition. One of the artistic kids created a drawing in the sand. We loved it, so that became part of the annual routine too.

Now, we have officially added a third tradition.

A Dinosaur Face Becomes the Perfect Family Photo

The youngest member of the family loves making dinosaur faces. At first, his fierce dinosaur expression looked a little different beside everyone else’s beautiful smiles. Instead of changing his expression, though, we decided the rest of the family simply needed to join him!

Suddenly, everyone came up with their own original funny face. Some were silly. Others were completely ridiculous. Meanwhile, our little dinosaur fit in perfectly.

The result was one of our favorite photographs of the evening.

More Than Just Pictures at the Beach

That is what we love about photographing repeat families. Family Beach Photos in Fort Morgan, Alabama become much more than pretty pictures beside the Gulf. Over time, they tell a story.

Each year brings taller kids, new memories, familiar jokes, and another chapter to photograph. Most importantly, the sessions become part of the vacation itself.

So, next year we already know what is waiting for us: beautiful family portraits, a sword fight, a sand drawing, and now an official funny-face photo.

We may be running out of time at the end of these sessions!
