On Point

Amelia’s ballet photos are on point! She is here to play in a softball tournament (yes, she is a versatile athlete) at the Orange Beach Sportsplex. While they are here for the ballgames, her mom carved out a few minutes to take Amelia’s 13th birthday photos on the beach.

Ballet photos at the Beach

She brought her pointe shoes since she already has several sports photos wearing her ball cap and softball uniform. Julie, Amelia’s mom, thought ballet at the beach would make a magical 13th birthday photo. She was right!

Amelia’s ballet career wrapped up with The Nutcracker.

As a farewell to Pointe, she got her ballet shoes and leotard wet in the gulf. Almost like a trash the dress after a wedding, she had a trash the pointe shoes photo session. It was a beautiful way to remember the 12-year-old dancer who has matured into a softball and volleyball player.

Her days as a dancer will follow her for life.

The grace that Amelia gained through dance carries over into her other sports activities. Her posture, coordination, and confidence come from her background in ballet. The hours spent at the ballet studio were an investment in her future.

Amelia’s beach photos are on point!

The memories will last a lifetime. Now, thanks to her mom arranging photos, the images will remind her daily of the joy of ballet. Julie plans to hang a large canvas of Amelia dancing on the beach in their living room. It will be a hard choice since her photos are so lovely!

Bring props to your photo session at the beach.

Julie planned these photos at the last minute. There was no time to order a long, flowy skirt. Well, she did order a dress, but it did not arrive by the time they left home. Her practice leotard and pointe shoes made a simple yet tasteful outfit. Julie did bring a tile for her daughter to dance on and allowed Amelia to twirl in the sand. I thought that was an excellent idea! No matter what sport your child plays, we would love to be your Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, or Perdido Key Photographers!
