Their family scheduled this session to commemorate an important season in their lives. Their son will soon be leaving for the Navy. Naturally, everyone is incredibly proud of him. At the same time, plenty of nerves and emotions come with such a big change.
That combination of pride, excitement, love, and a few worried hearts made this session especially memorable.

For Stacy and Chris, this was exactly that kind of session.
We met early for sunrise photos. Although waking up before the sun can be tough, Perdido Key is absolutely gorgeous at that hour. The beach is peaceful. The temperatures are cooler. Plus, the soft morning light creates a beautiful glow.
Most importantly, sunrise sessions often give families a little more room to relax and enjoy the experience together.

Of course, this session had another fun addition.
The family brought their puppy along!
Immediately, that added even more personality to the photos. Dogs have a way of making everyone laugh. Additionally, they help create some of those natural, candid moments that families often love the most.
Between the puppy, the sunrise, and the beautiful Perdido Key shoreline, we captured plenty of sweet moments.

These photos matter because their son is leaving for the military, said Stacy.
Still, the heart of this session was their son in the military.
Soon, he will begin an entirely new chapter with the Navy. Without a doubt, his family will be cheering him on every step of the way. They are proud of the young man he has become. Yet, like so many military families, they also know that saying goodbye will not be easy.
That is exactly why photographs like these matter.
