The best photo session
The best photo sessions are no accident, and they start with you!
Good lighting & happy, cooperative participants are all key ingredients. Thank you for bringing your good vibes Kenzie! This senior was not only pretty but also willing to try a few poses out that I had in mind.
Oh, hello, allow me to introduce Kenzie!
She is entering the 12th grade and chose to go ahead and take senior photos while she is here at the beach for a family vacation. You see, she will be playing college beach volleyball for North Florida University next fall. Her mom suggested the beach background for her senior photos and Kenzie agreed that there is no better setting.
What a great morning!
We met at the Alabama Point East, known as the Pass, for a sunrise shoot. This location is best at sunrise for several reasons. Mostly because it is crowded all day long, but if you arrive at sunrise, you may just be one of a couple of beachgoers.
Luckily, we had the place to ourselves, making this the best photo session.
Well, except for a fisherman or 2 and a handful of other photographers from Orange Beach. That is ok, we can share the space easily in the a.m. hours. Another great reason for sunrise photos at the pass is the actual sun itself can be seen without being blocked by a building.
What else makes this the best photo session?
Clouds! My friend, clouds are wonderful and a photographer’s friend. You may think a bright sunny day is better, but let me tell you that when we have nice clouds, it makes the sky more interesting. Another benefit to clouds is the shade they provided gives us the “good light” a little longer at sunrise and keeps it a bit cooler for those of us that tend to sweat.
I think Kenzie and her family also had the best photo session due to their attitudes.
They were not only celebrating the milestone of a senior year and great things to come, but also life! Dad had been battling stage 4 cancer and has finally gotten the “all clear” from his doctors! This puts everything into perspective and allows their family to appreciate each other, celebrate the good and love life!
Thank you for allowing Beach Shutters Photography to share all of your good news. We love our repeat clients & this is one of the stories that we will hopefully continue to document. The story of Kenzie & Co. continues…
