RAW Photos
RAW photos are the secret ingredient behind that “wow” feeling you get when you open your final gallery. They are also the reason you won’t receive every single image we click during your session. RAW files are not finished photographs. Instead, they are digital negatives. They hold extra detail in the highlights and shadows. They also keep richer color information. However, straight out of the camera, they can look flat, gray, and a little lifeless.

Turning RAW into WOW!
That is exactly what our example images are showing. One is the RAW image, right out of the camera. The other is the same moment after careful editing. The difference can feel dramatic. Yet the goal is never to make you look “fake.” The goal is to make the scene look the way it felt.
Hand-Edits, not magic, make Beach Shutters photos shine!
During your session, we shoot each pose several times. Think click, click, click. This helps us catch open eyes, natural smiles, and sharp focus. Then, after the session ends, the real work begins. First, we review every set of images. Next, we select the strongest frame from each pose. Then we delete the rejects. After that, we begin editing each chosen photo by hand.

Clean up on isle beach!
Background cleanup is a big part of beach photography. Even on a gorgeous shoreline, there can be distractions. So we remove background noise like strangers, trash, random signs, and buildings when needed. We also fine-tune composition with cropping and straightening. In addition, we check faces closely. That means correcting blemishes, whitening teeth when necessary, and brightening eyes for a fresh, natural look.

Yes, we can slim you up when requested. Still, in this case, Lyndsey and her family did not need that service at all! Their images were already beautiful. The edits were simply about polish, not changing who they are. Thank you Lyndsey, for being great examples of repeat clients BEFORE & AFTER edits.

Finally, we add the “pop.” We adjust exposure. We balance whites and darks. We increase saturation carefully. We also whiten the sand and enhance the sky for sweet contrast. Magic? No. However, the finished product feels magical. And that is the whole point.
