Stanley’s People

Every dog has his people, and Stanley certainly has a wonderful crew.

This sweet beach session began with his human mom, Shelley, who scheduled the family photos. Joining her were her husband, their twin daughters, both of the girls’ husbands, and, of course, Stanley himself.

Hi, I am Stanley and these are my people.

Meet Stanley; these are his favorite people.

From the start, we knew this session would be fun.

Stanley, however, had a few questions about the beach.

More specifically, he had questions about the sand.

At first, he seemed completely confused about why it kept sticking to his paws. After nearly every step, he stopped and tried to shake it off. Then, he would take another step, feel the sand again, and repeat the entire process.

Needless to say, we were all laughing.

Eventually, Stanley seemed to decide that the sand might be acceptable after all. Still, he remained just a little suspicious of it.

Interestingly enough, Stanley wasn’t the only one skeptical about going barefoot on the beach.

One of the girls’ husbands was not quite convinced either. So, rather than surrender to the sand, this country boy simply kept his boots on.

Honestly, I loved it.

Those little details are what make family Beach Photos feel real. Everyone does not have to match perfectly. Instead, personality makes the photos better. Boots on the beach, Stanley shaking sand from his paws, twin sisters laughing together, and the whole family enjoying the moment made this session feel completely genuine.

Meanwhile, Shelley and her family were so easy to photograph. Laughter, joking, and natural interaction filled the air. Because everyone was relaxed, we captured photos that felt like them, not a collection of poses.

As Orange Beach Photographers and Gulf Shores Photographers, we get to meet families from all over. However, sessions like this one are especially memorable because they remind us that vacation photos are about more than the location.

They are about the people.

And sometimes, they are about the dog too.

At Beach Shutters Photography, we love photographing families who bring their personalities. As a pet-friendly photographer, I am also always happy when the family dog gets to join the fun. After all, pets are part of the story, and Stanley was definitely part of this one.

By the end of the session, we had beautiful family photos, plenty of laughs, and several moments that could never have been planned.

Shelley, her husband, their beautiful twin girls, their husbands, and Stanley were an absolute joy to photograph.
