Let’s vacation in Gulf Shores with friends!

Meet Georgia & Blythe.  These two have been friends forever and decided to take a vacation together to Gulf Shores Alabama.

Road Trip with teens takes a lot of planning.

Think about it.  These guys like to eat and be entertained.  Mom had that under control with plenty of snacks, a rental with a kitchen and the beach just steps away.  Now for the entertainment, aside from beach and pool time, what are some great family activities for older kids?

Photo day was lots of fun for all ages!

We met at sunrise, and it worked out perfectly.  The kids and grownups had a good time posing for silly pics and smiling for the formal ones.  Afterward, the whole gang headed out for doughnuts and coffee.. maybe a mimosa, too!

What next?

The Track in Gulf Shores has a gocart track and games for older kids.  If you haven’t had enough water activities, then try Waterville for slides and thrills.  These two activities should keep the whole crew entertained for an afternoon.

Good!  Head over to Orange Beach to the Wharf to see our unique local shops.  There are plenty of souvenir shops and specialty items for all ages.  The Tanger is just up the road in Foley for your clothing needs.  And we have our share of surf shops too!

Let’s eat, again!

Gulf Shores has lots of local flavors, and there are plenty of great eats.  Vacation is all about eating, even when you’re not hungry, right!  The more popular restaurants like Tacky Jacks, Hangout, and LuLu’s are fun.  They may be crowded during peak season, so call ahead.

Try a few of our best-kept secrets for a quick bite.  There is a restaurant tucked away at the Bear Point Marina in Orange Beach that you can reach by car or boat.  Another short boat ride away is Pirates Cove in Josephine.  Both of these restaurants are sure to please and have lots of local character.
